..........News Archive.......... September 2002 - December 2002
20/12/02 The Fountains Mill gig was a bit of a let down, mainly due to house PA problems and frustration from the band. Nonetheless, we sold out of the CD. More CD's will be available soon. If you are interested in buying the CD, email kerfew@blueyonder.co.uk and it can be sent to you. I don't know how we will do this but, I'm sure we can work it out. The download of "Automatic Destruction" is still available on the links page. There are new pictures on the photos page.
18/12/02 The CD has been completed and is available now. It has seven tracks including "Until Now", "Automatic Destruction", "Exile" and is titled "Nearly Decent". It costs £3.
16/12/02 The band have completed a stint in the recording studio. A CD of the session has been compiled and it is hoped that it will be available by Thursday 19th December at the Fountains Mill gig. This is the first real attempt at recording and the band has worked very hard to produce the CD.
11/12/02 The guestbook is open for business again. After a long absence, I have been persuaded to give it another chance.
9/12/02 Rumour has it that the band have been rehearsing a Christmas set for the December gig at the Mill. It's on the news page so it must be true.
3/12/02 O.K. My little secret's out. You can find an mp3 of Automatic Destruction on the Links page. It's a remix of some odd bits of recording the band did. It didn't really turn out quite how they might of liked. Email kerfew@blueyonder.co.uk and tell us what you think.
30/11/02 Kerfew are playing at the Fusilier and Firkin, Camden on Thursday 5th December and a reminder of the Fountains Mill gig on Thursday 19th December. The band are in the recording studio in the middle of December. They haven't had much luck recording, so finally they might produce something worthwhile. After much harassment from Stuart, I have decided to give him a page for his wacky ideas. As the webmaster, I take no responsibility for the content as I prefer this site to be of the more informative variety. You can find the page here. Stuart's page
18/10/02 All the rumours about Stuart leaving the band are vastly exaggerated. The fight in the studio, Stuart's breast implants, Sean's arrest in King Cross for suspect behavior, Matt's shotgun marriage and the booking for next years OzzFest maybe true, but Stuart is definitely staying.
16/10/02 Up and coming gigs have been confirmed starting with The Fusilier and Firkin in Camden on Thursday 24th October. Next comes the infamous "All Hallows Ball" on Friday 1st November at Wembley Rugby Club. Confusingly, the venue is not in Wembley but in Harrow. Should be a great night with four bands including "Blind to the Fact", "The Bride Wore Black" and "Silvertone". Finally, a Christmas gig at Fountains Mill, Uxbridge on Thursday 19th December with "Phinius Gage" and "Blind to the Fact".
25/9/02 An enormous thank you to Skum, Doyley and especially Strangy of Celtic Bones for making The Borderline gig happen. We look forward to meeting them again.
24/9/02 The gig at The Borderline in Central London on Wednesday 25th, September has now been confirmed. This is the biggest gig to date and shows how the band have progressed in the short time they have been on the gig scene.
21/9/02 After playing Fountains Mill on Thursday, it was off to The Fusilier and Firkin in Camden Town the following night. Thanks to Dave from Blind to the Fact for setting this one up. Next gig is likely to be at The Borderline in Charring Cross supporting Celtic Bones on Wednesday 25th September.
17/9/02 The band play Fountains Mill , Uxbridge on Thursday 19th September. With them on the bill is Muff Diver and Blind to the Fact. This comes after an interesting spot at the Mill last Sunday at a charity day for peace in Africa.
2/9/2002 After the summer holidays it's back to business. There are a few dates coming up with the band's connection with Fountain's Mill in Uxbridge growing. They will be playing there on Thursday 19th September with their mates "Blind to the Fact" and "Muffdiver". It's only £1 to get in and the doors open at 7.30pm. They are on the verge of doing some recording and will have a CD available within the next couple of months. They hope to have the services of a seriously expensive producer, so all donations are welcome.
